We have been flying over and around our treasured U.S. National Parks in the Western United States for the past year. These articles share substantial detailed aviation information (including cool Navigation tools) about Flying in and around U.S. National Parks — also we point out interesting locations adjacent to the Parks that Aviation enthusiasts might find interesting (good photos included). State Park details are discussed as well.

In many cases these excursions involved landing at remote airstrips for further Touring and/or landing adjacent where Private Motorsport Race Tracks were located for Auto Racing. Here we go!

Glen Canyon Dam — on the Colorado River — is cool to experience. It is, of course, very controversial on both side of this concrete beast. The fishing below the dam is really cool. Put it on your list of things to do.

Also an interesting vantage point looking back North East at Snow Bowl Ski Area on San Francisco Peaks.

Noteworthy: We see and are alerted to interesting Historical State and Federal landmarks thru Google Maps navigation and our Aircraft’s Aviation / Navigation software. We point out cool locations — down in the weeds — as we see them. An interesting Planet out there and we are curious about it.

The National Historic Landmarks Program, established in 1935, is administered by the National Park Service on behalf of the Secretary of the Interior. The agency works with preservation officials, private property owners and other partners interested in nominating properties for National Historic Landmark designation.
